Apparently, Oprah Winfrey plays a French quadriplegic who can see dead people in "Lee Daniels' The Butler." Oh, and Oscar nominations also came out five months early this year.
Last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the show took to the streets to ask random people in Hollywood about "Lee Daniels' The Butler," specifically what they thought of Winfrey's performance in the film and whether she deserved her Oscar nomination for the part. Um, in case you missed it, no one's seen the film yet (it comes out Friday), and Oscar nominations aren't announced until January, so these liars just embarrassed themselves in front of the "Kimmel"-watching world.
Pretending they'd seen the film, people fielded ridiculous questions like "What did you think when Oprah could see dead people at the end?" and "What did you think of her French accent?" Folks will do anything to look smart on camera, even if it ultimately makes them come off as, well, a little silly.
Check out the video below, and just imagine what a French-speaking, "Sixth Sense"-eqsue Winfrey would be like.
While those random pedestrians should immediately go into hiding to avoid any further embarrassment, one lucky woman at the "Kimmel" taping last night has reason to celebrate. In a typical crazy, unexpected Oprah moment, the spontaneous actress unleashed her inner talk show host and gave away a car to an audience member.
Responding to a confused Kimmel, Oprah said, "Every once in a while, Jimmy, it just happens, especially when I skip lunch." Someone please start hiding her lunch.
