It's probably a good thing that Bruce Willis is sitting out "The Expendables 3" -- apparently, action movies bore him. Or at least that's what the star said in a recent interview with Spanish magazine XLS, reports Mirror UK.
"Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job," Willis apparently told the magazine of the monotony of the genre. "When you have seen a few fireballs, it's not exciting anymore."
What keeps him coming back, though, is simple: cold, hard cash.
"I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue," he said, per Mirror. "I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium-sized, even science fiction."
The Dissolve breaks down Willis's recent filmography, and it's definitely dominated by action flicks, including three just this year -- "Red 2," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," and "A Good Day to Die Hard" -- and 10 in the last four years. That pace certainly seems like it would burn anyone out.
So maybe that can be Willis's official story going forward when he's asked about bowing out of "The Expendables 3"? Though this reported interview does make a case for Sylvester Stallone's accusations of greed.
