Like many a franchise leading pair before them, Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower heated up on- and off-screen while filming this summer's "Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" -- the first movie in a planned-for series. But now Us Weekly reports that the 24-year-old co-stars have parted ways.
The actors first began dating while shooting the YA adaptation in Toronto last July, less than a month after Campbell Bower and his "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" co-star Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) called off their engagement. Collins had previously been linked to Zac Efron, and before that dated her "Abduction" co-star Taylor Lautner.
A source tells Us that although Collins and Campbell Bower split recently, their breakup hasn't affected the "City of Bones" promotional tour. "They've been really good about doing the press tour together for their movie," the insider reveals. "They were able to stay friendly."
In the supernatural movie, based on the first book in the Cassandra Clare series, Collins plays Clary Fray, a Brooklyn teenager who learns of a magical world-within-a-world after meeting Campbell Bower's Jace Wayland, a shadowhunter.
"Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" arrives in theaters August 21.
