The sheer amount of curiosity surrounding Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac," an eight-part, two-movie exploration of one woman's sexual past, is enough to rival most big superhero franchises.

The project is said to feature frank depictions of sexual acts, with the actors' foreign parts being doubled (at least during the sex scenes) by porn stars. Adding to the intrigue surrounding the film, star Shia LeBeouf half-jokingly suggested last fall that he won his part by sending von Trier a personal sex tape. Now a new SFW clip from the movie and a slightly NSFW still, both featuring LaBeouf, hint at mightily steamy things to come.

"Nymphomaniac" is centered a woman named Joe, played by frequent von Trier punching bag Charlotte Gainsbourg, who recounts her decades of sexual experience. In the deeper flashbacks, model and actress Stacy Martin stands in as Joe; the new photo, released yesterday to Vulture, spotlights LaBeouf and a very naked Martin.

Martin and LaBeouf also star in this newly released clip, which is taken from the film's second chapter (called "Jerôme"). In it, Joe appears to be showing up for her first day of work at an office, where LaBeouf's Jerôme shows her around. At some point the two of them get stuck in a "malfunctioning" elevator, courtesy of creepy Jerôme, and the teaser cuts off just as things are poised to take a turn for the frisky.

Of the second chapter, von Trier tells Vulture, "Though love is a shallow feeling in the eyes of the cynical nymphomaniac, young Joe is met by forces penetrating her armoured defences. His name is Jerôme."

"Nymphomaniac" also stars Stellan Skarsgard, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater, Connie Nielsen, Willem Dafoe, Jesper Christensen, Udo Kier, Uma Thurman, and Kate Ashfield, in various states of dress and undress. It currently has a Christmas day release date in Denmark (bring the whole family), while stateside distributor Magnolia is only teasing "early 2014" for America.

With a movie like "Nymphomaniac," it's all about the tease.
