Yesterday, Latino Review "exclusively" broke the news that Efron and Gosling would be taking on starring roles in the upcoming Disney-helmed "Star Wars" installment. However, when something is too good to be true, it usually isn't -- and that's the case with this report, which Gosling's reps denied in an email statement to Huffington Post Entertainment. HuffPost adds that an email to Efron's reps has yet to be answered.
Of course, Gosling's reps could just be toying with our emotions until Disney makes official announcements about the project at its D23 expo starting August 9.
If the rumors somehow turn out to be accurate, Latino Review reports that Gosling would likely play Luke Skywalker's son, but Efron's potential role in the movie, which is set 30 years after "Return of the Jedi," is unclear. The Review speculates he may play Han Solo's kid.
We'll keep our fingers crossed for now!
