A slew of new photos from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" show off several new characters, including villains Electro and the Rhino, and a pre-Green Goblin Harry Osborn.
The image of Jamie Foxx's Electro, with his bright blue and purple visage crackling with electric veins, is especially striking. There's also a shot of his alter ego, Max Dillon, looking like a bit of a sad sack with a stringy combover, which makes his eventual transformation into Electro all the more remarkable.
As for Rhino (Paul Giamatti), his photo is less arresting, mainly because we can't see much of him aside from his bald head. But the maniacal look on his face suggests he's more trouble than he appears.
"Spider-Man 2" will pick up during Peter Parker's graduation from high school, after Peter has settled into his Spider-Man hero role. The teen soon faces a challenge from friend-turned-foe Electro, as well as the return of childhood pal Harry (Dane DeHaan).
Director Marc Webb has indicated that Electro will be the main antagonist in the sequel to the newly rebooted franchise, and new cast members will set up "something more interesting" in the following installments of the series. Sounds like there will be plenty to keep Spidey busy.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" swings into theaters May 2, 2014. Check out the new stills below.
