When "Guardians of the Galaxy" hits theaters next summer, we're going to see a very buff Chris Pratt in the role of Star-Lord, the Guardians' leader.
Pratt, who's been hard at work in preparation for the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, teased the results of his gym-going efforts on Instagram.
"Six months no beer. #GOTG," he wrote alongside the above photo of his impressive six-pack -- a far cry from his pudgy "Parks and Recreation" character, the adorably half-witted Andy Dwyer. "Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me."
This isn't the first time Pratt has transformed his body in the name of cinematic glory: He dropped 30 pounds for his role as a Major Leaguer in "Moneyball" (2011), regained it all -- and then some -- to make his beer belly believable in "Ten Years" (2011), pumped iron to play a Seal Team Six member in 2012's "Zero Dark Thirty," and then packed on 60 pounds for the Vince Vaughn comedy "Delivery Man."
Of his weight fluctuations, Pratt quipped to Vulture, "I just like to gain weight and lose weight. It's a rollercoaster. I just want to do this. I want to touch God."
"Guardians of the Galaxy" soars into theaters August 1, 2014.
