Another familiar face may be joining the "Hunger Games" universe, as Deadline reports Julianne Moore is being eyed for the role of President Alma Coin in "Mockingjay."
Fans of the series know Coin to be the manipulative politician who butts heads with heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), the District 12 tribute who becomes a symbol of the budding rebellion against the Capitol. If she signs on, Moore would appear twice in the series, as "Mockingjay," the third book in the Suzanne Collins trilogy, is set to be split into two parts.
Moore is no stranger to playing politicians, having won an Emmy for her portrayal of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in HBO's "Game Change." The chameleonic actress would make a perfect fit for Coin, who's calculated scheming is both ruthless and understated.
Moore would join an already all-star cast that includes Oscar winners Lawrence and Philip Seymour Hoffman, as new Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. Those stars -- along with leading men Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) and Liam Hemsworth (Gale) and a host of new and returning characters -- are set to appear in the second installment of the series, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," which hits theaters Nov. 22.
