The movie version of "Fifty Shades of Grey," E.L. James's "mommy porn" bestseller, is set to dominate the box office next year.

According to a post on the movie's official Facebook page, "Fifty Shades of Grey" will hit theaters Aug. 1, 2014 -- the same day as Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Sam Taylor-Johnson was recently tapped to direct the first installment of the Universal and Focus Features franchise, from a script by screenwriter Kelly Marcel. Despite the countless high-profile names tossed around as potential fits for the starring roles of billionaire BDSM devotee Christian Grey and his young protegee Anastasia Steele, no actors have been attached to the coveted parts just yet.

It's still any young Hollywood heartthrob's game, but the clock is now ticking down to summer 2014.
