Apparently "Amazing Spider-Man 2" director Marc Webb is going villain-crazy. In addition to Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, and Chris Cooper as the Green Goblin, there may be at least one more villain in the highly anticipated sequel's rogues gallery. While this hasn't been confirmed yet, it still probably qualifies for a spoiler warning. You've been warned!
According to a report from Comic Book Movie, Colm Feore will be playing Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture. Additionally, the report suggests that the Vulture will team up with the Rhino, the Green Goblin, and Electro to form an embryonic version of what will eventually become The Sinister Six (for future sequels). For a long time it was assumed that Felicity Jones would be playing the Black Cat, although that too remains unconfirmed.
For those of you playing at home, when Sam Raimi was working on a fourth "Spider-Man" film, following 2007's "Spider-Man 3," he actually cast John Malkovich as the Vulture (alongside Anne Hathaway as the Black Cat and Dylan Baker as the Lizard). That version, quite obviously, never came to pass, which led the way for Marc Webb's rebooted "Amazing Spider-Man," which was released in 2012.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is scheduled for release on May 2nd, 2014.
