Go West, Woody Allen!
The legendary director traveled through Europe for his last two movies, "Midnight in Paris" and "To Rome With Love." Now, he's heading back to America's West Coast for his newest film, "Blue Jasmine." The first trailer lays out the basic story: Cate Blanchett is a spoiled socialite whose world comes crashing down when her rich husband (Alec Baldwin) turns out to be a crook.
"I'm dead broke. The government took everything," a tipsy and teary Blanchett moans.
She flies to San Francisco to stay with her sister (Sally Hawkins), but doesn't quite fit in with her blue-collar life or friends (Bobby Cannavale and -- wow! -- Andrew Dice Clay). Louis C.K., Peter Sarsgaard, and Michael Stuhlberg also star.
"Anxieties nightmares, and a nervous breakdown," Blanchett says. "There's only so many traumas a person can withstand before they take to the streets and start screaming!"
Emotional crisis, mid-life existential questions -- sounds just up Allen's alley.
"Blue Jasmine" opens in limited release July 26.
