CATEGORIES Movie NewsThis may be a match made in comedy heaven. Word on the street is that Melissa McCarthy will be starring opposite Bill Murray in the upcoming dramedy "St. Vincent De Van Nuys." Although the "Identity Thief" actress hasn't gotten an official offer yet, Deadline reports that it's all but a done deal.
The spotlight in "Van Nuys" will be on Bill Murray, who becomes a sort of mentor to McCarthy's character's son. She's a single mom working crazy hours at a nearby hospital, so she decides to entrust her neighbor with her kid. Of course, this being a Bill Murray-ish character, he's no ordinary mentor; his life lessons are more in line with the school of hard knocks.
The film will start production in July. In the meantime, McCarthy's new movie "The Heat" with Sandra Bullock will be hitting theaters at the end of June. She's also co-directing "Tammy" along with her husband Ben Falcone; they wrote the script together, and McCarthy is slated to star. That's just one of many projects the "Gilmore Girls" actress has in the pipeline, and we're certainly looking forward to it.
