CATEGORIES Movie NewsBroadway, make way for Prince Ali.
Coming off the heels of its 20th anniversary, the Disney hit "Aladdin" is heading to the stage to bewitch a whole new crop of theater-goers.
The New York Times reports that the show will take over for the long-running "Mary Poppins," which closes in March. (The musical made its debut in Seattle in 2011 and garnered somewhat mixed reviews.) The Broadway show for "Aladdin" will include your favorite numbers from the 1992 flick, some songs that never made the big-screen cut as well as a few brand new arrangements.
"Aladdin" is scheduled to open at New York's New Amsterdam Theater in 2014.
