Will Smith is no stranger is post-apocalyptic-related movies ("I Am Legend," "Independence Days"), and now, he's gotten his son Jaden in the mix.

The first trailer for "After Earth," M. Night Shyamalan's dystopian thriller, has arrived. The film, which stars Will and Jaden Smith as a father-son duo (Cypher and Kitai Raige), takes place 1,000 years after humans were forced to evacuate Earth due to cataclysmic events. However, when an asteroid hits Cypher and Kitai's aircraft, they end up descending to an unfamiliar and dangerous planet Earth.

The movie is a departure from Shyamalan's normal brand of horror-suspense. Granted, this isn't the filmmaker's first go-round with sci-fi: in 2010, he released the critically lambasted The Last Airbender." Here's hoping he has more luck with "After Earth." You can watch the new trailer in the video above. "After Earth" is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2013.

  It was the slap heard 'round the world! Last week, at the "Men in Black 3" premiere in Moscow, a "reporter" tried to kiss Smith on the mouth. Unfortunately, Will wasn't having any of that and decided to slap him in the face.

  For all you "Blossom" fans out there: In this episode, Blossom encounters a dumbstruck Will Smith (or, more accurately, "The Fresh Prince") in an elevator. She starts screaming, he calms her down, then she starts screaming again. (Smith comes in at the four-minute mark.)
