Moviefone's New Release Pick of the Week "ParaNorman" What's It About? When a vengeful witch unleashes a zombie plague on a small New England community, it's up to Norman, the horror-movie obsessed outcast who can communicate with ghosts, to save the day. See It Because: The second stop-motion animated feature from the studio that brought you "Coraline" bursts with laughs and scares. The art direction is uniquely dazzling, the comedic banter between Norman and his friends is "Goonies"-worthy and the experience is packed with so many classic scary scenarios, that it will appeal to anyone who has a soft spot for movies like "Gremlins" and "Evil Dead 2."

New on DVD & Blu-ray "The Apparition" What's It About? Ashley Greene and Tom Felton star in a schlocky, predictable and neutered ghost story. This is not the "Twilight" / "Harry potter" crossover we asked for. See It or Skip It: Skip it.

"Lawless" What's It About? Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy star in a true-story gangster tale of bootlegging brothers who cross the paths of mobsters (Gary Oldman) and corrupt cops (Guy Pearce). It looks like a gangster movie, but it's mainly superficial pulp. See It or Skip It: See it, but don't expect a classic.

"Men in Black 3" (Friday, November 30) What's It About? Will Smith returns as Agent J in a time-traveling adventure that teams him up with a young Agent K (Josh Brolin). It's better than "MIB II" but that isn't saying much, and it still pales in comparison to the original 1997 blockbuster. See It or Skip It: See it, if you're a Will Smith completist.

"Sparkle" What's It About? Jordin Sparks stars in a "Dreamgirls"-style drama of three sisters, whose musical careers are challenged by the pratfalls of fame. It's filled with cliches and the story has been done before (and better); the most interesting aspect of the movie is the fact that it stars the late Whitney Houston. See It or Skip It: See it for Whitney, but that's it.

"Step Up Revolution" What's It About? They made another one of these? See It or Skip It: Skip it.
