Who'd have guessed that Jeff Spicoli, among the alumni of Ridgemont High School, would be Most Likely to Succeed? Yet 30 years after the release of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (which hit theaters on August 13, 1982), it's remarkable to see how many careers the influential teen comedy launched. Not just that of Sean Penn, whose ultra-slacker Spicoli led to the most brilliant dramatic acting career of his generation, but also those of Jennifer Jason Leigh, Forest Whitaker, Nicolas Cage, filmmakers Cameron Crowe and Amy Heckerling, and many others.
