CATEGORIES Movie NewsIn "The Bourne Legacy," Jeremy Renner plays Aaron Cross, a "superagent" from a secret government program known as Operation Outcome (a different but similar incarnation to the previous "Bourne" movies' Treadstone initiative).
Like its predecessors, "Legacy" promises an action-thriller stuffed with car chases, shootouts and hand-to-hand combat -- and that means it will need a soundtrack to go with it.
That's where Moby comes in. The musician/DJ/composer was behind the song "Extreme Ways," a track that played in the last three "Bourne" films. However, for "Legacy," Moby has decided to do something a little different with it.
Here, in conjunction with AOL Music, Moviefone presents an exclusive look at Moby composing a new version of "Extreme Ways," this time with a full orchestra.
"I wanted to...let the orchestra to be more melodic and bombastic" said Moby, about re-recording the famous tune. "Having] the best classical musicians on the planet playing music that I have written is really wonderful."
The soundtrack, which includes both the James Newton Howard score and Moby's new "Extreme Ways" mix, hits iTunes & Amazon today (7/31), via Backlot Music. The physical album will be in stores on August 7, three days ahead of the film's August 10 release. (Moby is also set to release an EP of remixes for the song, sometime in September.)
