Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... a man in a scruffy beard and workman's clothes?
At least that's what the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Superman movie, "Man of Steel," is promising. From the looks of the clip, the film -- directed by "300" and "Watchmen" helmer Zack Snyder -- will feature a different, more grounded (no pun intended) take on Clark Kent, struggling to come to terms with his faster-than-a-speeding-bullet persona.
"You're not just anyone. One day, you're going to have to make a choice. You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, is going to change the world," says trailer narrator Kevin Costner, who plays Jonathan Kent, the adoptive parent of Clark (you can check out another trailer, featuring the voice of Russell Crowe, who plays Jor-El, here).
Although the clip is filled with images of Clark trying to be a "regular guy," by the end of the video, viewers get a brief glimpse of Superman taking off into the sky, so you can assume that whole "change the world" thing will probably come to fruition at some point. The teaser is remarkably less than what Snyder showed the Hall H crowd at Comic-Con last weekend in San Diego, so expect more footage to be released in the coming weeks/months.
