Each July in San Diego, thousands of geekboys and girls travel from all over to attend the world-famous Comic-Con, a comic book convention filled with props, posters, movies, tee shirts and toys. Oh, and tons of costumes. One of the best parts about the annual festival is getting to see fans dress up as their favorite superheroes and fantasy characters.

However, while chances are you and your Hulk costume are sitting out this year's Con, that doesn't mean you can't be part of the fun! From Batmans to wizards to Wookiees to ogres, attendees always manage to top themselves year after year.

Below, check out some of the best kooky/crazy/awesome costume-wearing fans from the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con.
