Sequel buzz was strong before "Snow White and the Huntsman" even opened, so news that Universal has greenlit a follow-up is hardly a surprise, especially after a better-than-expected opening weekend of $56 million.
Universal has hired David Koepp (who penned "Spider-Man" and "Jurassic Park") to write the script, which will pick up where the first film left off. The studio is also reportedly trying to get Rupert Sanders back in the director's chair, although he's not contracted for a second film. Stars Kristen Stewart and Hemsworth are under option for both and eager to return, while (SPOILER), Charlize Theron's evil queen may not be back, so a new fairy tale villain will have to be found.
While out promoting the film, Hemsworth joked that he and Stewart are writing the sequel script themselves, "'Snow White and the Huntsman 2' [will be] written by us, and it might be more of a straight-to-video version if they let us write it.'' Stewart added, ''It'll be better. Our version? We've basically written it. No, I'm kidding. We're gonna write the second one, all of us [in the cast].''

I heard all the main actors in the movie, including Charlize, have an option to sign on for the entire trilogy. For those of you who don't know, SWATH was originally supposed to have 3 films total. In the movie, the Evil Queen tells Snow White that they are 'tied to eachother' when she is a kid. So, eventhough (SPOILER) Charlize dies at the end of the first film, I wouldn't doubt it that she comes back to life just like Snow White did in the second film. After all, if Snow White isn't dead, then the Evil Queen isn't either....if in fact, they are 'tied to eachother'.

thanks for deciding to do the sequel...bc the conclusion was blah=>spoiler: what was that... snow white gets crowned queen, but she lools pensive and she's looking in the audience for the huntsman. i need the chick flick happy ending: girl gets guy, then they ride off into the sunset... but i got a lot of questions that need answers, like the huntsman kisses snow white and she wakes up, so he is her prince charming, right? 3drops of blood plops onto snow whites armor, then she looks into mirror. plus,the queen is tied majically to the mirror and no one broke the mirror...so charlize theron's evil queen could come back, like lord vortemord. please, give everyone the money so they will all come back...especially the director bc part1 is his vision...and make sequel soon. moreover, all actors were perfect in film... give huntsman a background...and build the love storyline..snow white needs to get the guy.

i 'm glad they're doing a sequel...bc i want-need a definite girl gets boy, then they ride into the sunset for their happily ever after ending. =>spoiler: they didn't break the mirror, and wasn't the evil queen tied majically to the mirror. would like to see in the sequel: huntsman's background-his past,like is he of royal blood, but the war and his wife's death made him shun that life. can bring back charlize theron if they reflect on a spell the evil queen made w/mirror which tie them together...plus what did the 3 drops of blood spilled on snow white's armor mean...the ending which snow white looks for the huntsman in the audience-ending sucked. please, give charlize more money to do sequel, bc she was divine...and make movie @least 30 minutes longer to give more life to huntsman, and the build the love storyline for huntsman and snow white(kiss that woke her was from the huntsman)...otherwise let it be cute william. thank you for deciding to make the sequel.

Saw it yesterday. I couldn't stop looking at Stewart's two front teeth. They're huge! I think they should have cast another as Snow because who could possibly be fairer than Charlize? Certainly not Kristan. She should star is a Bugs Bunny documentary. The scenery was beautiful; I wonder where it was filmed.

The cast and special effects where good, but I fell asleep before the ending. I wont go out of my way to see it again so why would they want to try a part 2? Just in case you're wondering, alot of people feel the same way as I. Maybe it's just our local idea of entertainment. If you watched the trailer you saw all the good parts already.
