CATEGORIES Movie NewsAmidst all of the awards and Golden Popcorns handed out at last night's 2012 MTV Movie Awards, the evening's biggest winners might have been eager fans of Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises," who were treated to a new teaser that included plenty of exclusive footage.
The new "DKR" TV spot, presented by Nolan and Christian Bale at the ceremony, starts off with a slow burn before erupting into an epic, chaotic feast for the eyes (much like Nolan's beloved trilogy itself). The clip, which you can watch above, has an extended look at a Joseph Gordon-Levitt scene with Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and some seriously chilling lines from Tom Hardy's Bane. There were also plenty of explosions pulled from the film's second official trailer.
Along with last night's new teaser premiere at the MTV Movie Awards came a report from AMC that Christopher Nolan's final entry into the trilogy will be 2 hours, 45 minutes long, outstretching :The Dark Knight'"s already-impressive 2 hours, 33 minutes. (Refillable popcorn, anyone?)
AMC will also be hosting "Dark Knight" marathons leading up the midnight release, for anyone who needs a crash course on what billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and Gotham City have been up to recently.
The hugely anticipated "Dark Knight Rises" is out in theaters July 20th. Tickets go on sale Monday, June 11th.
