The first picture from "Killing Them Softly," featured Brad Pitt clad in all black, holding a shotgun. The image gave fans a glimpse of what was to come, namely, a tale of a hitman's boss (Pitt) investigating a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker game.
This shoot-'em-up theme pops up once again in the first teaser poster from the film. The black-and-white image -- which you can see below -- shows a pair of America Flag-covered aviators, with a revolver pointing toward the viewer.
Based on the book "Cogan's Trade" by George V. Higgins, "Killing Them Softly" is being directed by Andrew Dominik ("The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"). Andrew recently spoke to USA Today about Pitt's role and the title of the film: "Brad's character calls what he does 'killing them softly' --- with a minimum of fuss," says Dominik. "It sounded like a movie title to me. Cogan's Trade kind of sounds like a Clint Eastwood title to me from 1972."

"Killing Them Softly," starring Pitt, James Gandolfini and Richard Jenkins, hits theaters September 21.
