Sacha Baron Cohen Apologizes To Ryan Seacrest For Oscar Gag, Says It Was Meant For Clooney

Remember that time during the Oscars pre-show when Sacha Baron Cohen dumped a fake urn filled with Kim Jong-il's ashes all over a none-too-pleased Ryan Seacrest? Ryan sure does! However, it appears he can now rest easy: Over the weekend, the red-carpet host received an apology from the comedian after Seacrest's performance on SNL.

"[Sacha] comes off stage, comes over to me, breaks [out of his 'Dictator'] character and says sorry about the Oscars, it wasn't personal, very very apologetic and genuine and kind and sweet," Seacrest told E! Online.

Now that all is right in the world, Cohen and Seacrest can go on being best friends. In fact, Sacha revealed to Ryan that he was not the original urn target.

"Originally he said that they were going to spill whatever it was in that urn on George Clooney," Seacrest said. "Someone decided that wasn't a great idea because he was up for a lot of nominations, it was a big night that night. Then they somehow spun the wheel of tragedy and landed on my name."

Hey, taking a bullet for George Clooney isn't the worst thing in the world.

Now with a clear conscience, Cohen is making the rounds promoting his upcoming envelope-pusher, "The Dictator," which hits theaters May 16.

Cohen is a no talent hack! He was told well in advance that he was NOT to arrive at the Oscars dressed as his character in his upcoming film. The Academy Awards are to honor outstanding achievements in film making - NOT to publicize a movie! He is reaping the rewards of his juvenile stunt...he's on his press junket promoting the film, and the public is booing and the media (yes, I'm a member) is staying away in droves!

Sorry, neither one of them are nice guys. Seacrest is a snob, as pointed out by "Mark & Brian" from KROQ....they wanted to meet him and say hello at an event, and Seacrest turned his back on them and ignored them. He's a midget with an attitude, and Cohen is a fool trying to maximize his 10 minutes of fame.

Guess I have to take your word for it becuase I don;t know either of them. I did see Seacrest at Disney a couple of years ago doing an interview and you're right, he is vertically challenged.

So then, the question is what is he still doing making movies, and getting his foolish face in the media? This moron's actions have never made me crack a smile, and I can assure you they never will. The scary thing is, there's apparantly enough people out there who think he's Gods gift to comedy. I guess it's that small, select group, that keeps him coming back.
