The Watch Changes Name

As a way of further disassociating itself from the Trayvon Martin tragedy, the film "Neighborhood Watch" has decided to change its name.

According to Variety, the film has been retitled "The Watch." In March, 20th Century Fox pulled the comedy's posters and teasers from Florida theaters.

"As the subject matter of this alien-invasion comedy bears no relation whatsoever to the recent tragic events in Florida, the studio altered the title to avoid any accidental or unintended misimpression that it might," the studio said in a statement.

Indeed, the comedy's premise couldn't be further from the scandal: The movie imagines a group of quality-time-seeking dudes -- Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade -- as a neighborhood watch group that happens to stumble onto extraterrestrial trouble.

Take a look at the newly released red-band trailer above.

"The Watch" hits theaters July 27.

The studio should cut its losses and not bother to release this movie.
The premise is weak and is a bad idea after the incident.
There is no saving grace for this steamer.

The target audience for this movie escapes me.

Ben Stiller has never risen to the level of humor of his parents- Jerry Stiller and Ann Meara. Guess I don't get his humor..don't find him funny at all.
