Chris Hemsworth: 'Avengers' Star Feels 'Like Benjamin Button'

With "Cabin in the Woods" racking up great reviews, the eagerly anticipated "Avengers" poised to open in a few weeks and the buzzed-about "Snow White and the Huntsman" due this summer, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth is suddenly everywhere these days. However, while this is shaping up to be his biggest year yet, you can't blame the Aussie actor for experiencing a bit of déja vu: Two of his 2012 releases -- including the long-delayed "Red Dawn" -- were actually filmed years ago.

"It's like a Benjamin Button experience for me. I'll get younger as time goes on and the films come out," he joked to Moviefone at the "Avengers" junket. "I shot 'Red Dawn' four years ago. It was caught in the same boat as 'Cabin in the Woods.' MGM went bankrupt and both those movies were put on hold. They've now been picked up by different studios and 'Red Dawn' is finally coming out November 2."

While it's somewhat complicated keeping track of what he filmed when, Hemsworth laid it out for us: "I did 'Cabin in the Woods,' then 'Red Dawn' and strangely enough 'Thor' came out first and now 'The Avengers.'"

Before those, there was his very first movie, "Cash," in which he co-starred with one of his acting heros, Sean Bean. (Is it it a surprise that the guy who plays Thor is a huge Boromir fan?)

"'Lord of the Rings' is one of my favorite films and Boromir was one of my favorite characters," Chris enthused. "I'd read the books and seen the films and when I worked with Sean it was one of the highlights of my career."

Of course, Hemsworth recognizes it isn't always easy being a Bean fan, "Watching 'Game of Thrones' when he gets his head cut off, I was [on the edge of my seat] going, 'They can't do it, they can't do it!' There's got to be some mythical thing that'll bring him back."

Sadly, Ned Stark isn't coming back to "Game of Thrones," but we'll be seeing a lot more of Hemsworth as Thor and possibly more of him as the Huntsman. "They're already talking about a second one," he said, although he's not sure whether that would entail a Huntsman spin-off.

I like the guy, but I've watched too much TV - when you say "Huntsman" nowadays, I think of Jamie Dornan. Yum.
