'The Three Stooges' Reviews: Critics React Favorably To Film

While the press surrounding the Farrelly Brothers' revamp of "The Three Stooges" has been somewhat wince-worthy, the flick might be worth its nyucks.

It's been a long road for the slap-happy trio, which were initially manned by the too-good-to-be-true Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro, but since the film's beginning, there's been critical scorn.

However, with the film poised to hit theaters tomorrow, critics are far less judgemental -- the joke, it seems, was on them. (Zing!)

Below is a round-up on top critics' reactions to the upcoming film. Guess this is a lesson for us all: don't judge a movie by its crotch shots.

"As usual, the Farrellys give this movie about as much visual style as you'd find in a Stooges two-reeler, but, as with the original films, you may be too busy watching and laughing at Moe, Larry and Curly to care."

I saw the Three Stooges movie today an loved it. Having grown up on a daily diet of Stoogemania, I can say with authority that these guys were spot on in their performances. They not only captured the precision they captured the spirit of the original trio. The only place they fell short was in their spontaneity, some of the gags were too well timed and looked rehearsed but that is understandable. The original guys did this for many years and had a natural rhythm. I hope to see a sequel with perhaps a cameo appearance of "Shemp" one of my favorite stooges who filled in for Curly after his stroke.

Oh by the way , I am sick to death of seeing that commercial with the woman in pink going through all her pink dresses , whatever it's selling, advertising , giving away for free! I don't want any part of it , yes not even for free!

I watched the slideshow , along with a few trailers of the film. I can't wait to see it in a theater now! These are the stooges for this generation , not Roger Eberts. I never judge a film before I see it , and I certainly Never take a critics word for it. I grew up watching the reruns of the stooges and enjoyed the slapstick as much as anyone and from what I've seen , set in a modern day setting , it hasn't changed that much. Kudos to the brothers for what may be another strange but hit movie! P.S. Loved Sean Hayes since Will and Grace and can't wait to see him act again (in comedy).

Previews are another way of saying Commercial. So why do I have to see a commercial before I can see the Commercial?
