If your sweeping "Star Wars" knowledge never seems to impress your lady friend, try this baby on for size: a guitar shaped like Han Solo's Millennium Falcon.
Tom Bingham has developed an "obsession" with turning objects -- vinyl records, cricket paddles -- into functioning guitars.
"I look at the whole world as if it can be turned into a guitar," he told The Metro. "If I can get a neck on it and hide the electrics then I create it."
While some regard his art as "rubbish," that didn't derail Bingham; his work is being exhibited in Corby, Northamptonshire, where several of his designs are on display.
The most awe-inspiring in his oeuvre is his "Star Wars"-influenced collection, which includes instruments based on the B-wing fighter, Anakin Skywalker and, of course, the Millennium Falcon.
The "Star Wars" guitar which comes with the standard telecaster setup, is a fully functioning instrument. Plug it in from the bottom, Bingham instructs, and "you're ready to go."
