After charming the pants off the luxury car clientele, Wes Anderson is continuing his twee commercial crusade.
This time, the director was charged with the duty of kitsch-ifying Sony's newest smartphone, the Xperia. Spoiler alert: he did it! The commercial, which renders the adorable theories of a child's understanding of cell phones, shows off Anderson's fluency with stop-motion. (They were on full display in his most recent film, "Fantastic Mr. Fox.")
Tapping into the mind's eye of children isn't a reach for Anderson, whose upcoming film "Moonrise Kingdom" follows the adventures of two star-crossed kids and hits theaters May 25.
Who knows how many more quirky commericals he's got up his sleeve until then -- you know what they say, auteurs gotta eat!
