The Host Trailer

Because "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight" haven't sated your need for YA movie adaptations, here comes "The Host," a big-screen take on "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer's other best-seller.

Starring Saoirse Ronan ("The Lovely Bones"), "The Host" leaves werewolves and vampires behind for aliens. There's still a love triangle, natch, but this one is a bit more tricky than Edward-Bella-Jacob: after an alien race invades Earth and takes over the minds of the population, a young girl (Ronan) and her alien puppet-master fall in love with different suitors (Max Irons and Jake Abel). Complicated, said Avril Lavigne.

The teaser keeps things simple, focusing on the alien-invaders aspect with some scary eyeball photography, while Ronan -- who perfected sullen young evil in "Atonement" -- looks appropriately dour. Between this and the new teaser for "Breaking Dawn Part 2," here's guessing there will be a lot of squealing before your screening of "The Hunger Games" this weekend.

The first minute of this trailer is an exact copy of the stage projections use for their song "Shivonne" when performing live.

Just because something was written by Stephenie Meyer doesn't mean it is "YA". The Host was marketed as an ADULT novel.
