Based on the best-selling book series by Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" imagines a dystopian world where 24 children are chosen from the districts of Panem and forced to fight to the death for entertainment purposes. Does Lawrence think something like that could happen in the future?
"Humanity is becoming dulled to itself," she said. "We can watch people die on TV; we can watch a snowboarder fall off a mountain and die. We watch it as entertainment. The world is obsessed with reality television, and in a world where history repeats itself, it's plausible, really, that our world could get there."
Well, then! Fingers crossed, we don't -- especially if "The Hunger Games" has that same impact on the millions of viewers who see it this weekend and beyond. As part of Moviefone's Unscripted, Lawrence revealed what she hopes fans will take away from the film. Watch above, and check back to Moviefone for more exclusive new videos this week.
