'Battleship' Trailer: Taylor Kitsch Hopes Transformers-y Aliens Will Make You Forget 'John Carter'

Taylor Kitsch's road to moviestardom hit a pothole when "John Carter" debuted with a thud this weekend. But, there's some good news for your favorite former Dillon Panther! He's got another effects-heavy tentpole coming out in May, and this one looks like something everyone loves (at least enough to spend money on): Transformers!

To sweep the image of Kitsch wearing a barely-there chest armor, Universal has released a third trailer for Michael Bay's "Battleship."

The most recent tease for the apocalyptic flick features a lot more of its supporting cast -- Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna -- plus Kitsch fighting aliens. Certainly looks like the art-house movie director Peter Berg promised.

"Battleship" hits theaters May 18.
