The Dark Tower Movie Ron Howard

The Gunslinger lives.

According to Deadline.com, Warner Bros. is close to a deal for Ron Howard's "The Dark Tower."

Howard has been attempting to bring "Dark Tower" -- based on Stephen King's epic seven-part series -- to the big screen since 2010. Due to the length of the books and details story, the original plan was to make several films interspersed with two television seasons. However, after Universal -- the studio first attached to the project -- only committed to one feature, Ron and producer Brian Grazer backed out and decided to bring "Tower" elsewhere.

The report states that Javier Bardem would still be attached to play the lead character, Roland Deschain, with Howard likely directing the first feature.

Last October, Grazer said that the TV portion of the project would be broadcast on HBO.

Bardem's great, but not for this! He's so NOT Roland! Timothy Olyphant is far more Roland--the way he moves, the way he looks, the hunger and edge. He's a gunslinger, pure and simple! I hope they reconsider the casting here, because Bardem's utterly wrong.

Ron Howard is the only director in Holly~weird that I would trust with the Dark Tower series. Each book, no matter how long, I never wanted them to end.

Such a great universe Stephen King created and compelling, interesting characters. I want to see it all on the big screen!

Please make this movie happen. I can't wait, this is my all time faverite of stephen King. Now with all the computer generated special effects they should be able to do a really good job with these books. I know they are long but they are awesome and should be made. Looking forwards to it, Cause I'm the #1 fan! LOL

I would love to see "The Dark Tower" made into movies but it seems pointless to split the story between the big screen and a series on HBO. If this were to happen I would not care to watch any of it because I don't subscribe to HBO. Bardem also seems like a questionable choice to play Roland.

Leave this alone, can't be done. If it has to be done, it will be EXPENSIVE

Please DONT make it happen! Everytime they turn a great Stephen King novel into a movie, it turns out like crap. I'd hate to see Hollywood soil this work of art.
