The last time Harvey Weinstein handled the domestic distribution went on to sweep every awards show and it looks like the veritable film god could do it again with Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master"

Five years after Anderson's chilling "There Will Be Blood," audiences have been eagerly awaiting his next project, "The Master." The new film, which stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams, narrates the rise and fall of a charismatic religious leader during the 1950s. Anderson's script initially drew comparisons to L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology.

But despite mounting anticipation, "The Master" had not been given a release date. Now, however, one of the film’s primary producers, Megan Ellison, tweeted a clue.

An October date would put the film smack dab in the middle of awards contenders, which we imagine suits Mr. Weinstein just fine.

This is one of my most anticipated films of the year. I love everything PTA has done thus far and I expect nothing less than excellence with this one. www.thelettersproject.org
