Five years after Anderson's chilling "There Will Be Blood," audiences have been eagerly awaiting his next project, "The Master." The new film, which stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams, narrates the rise and fall of a charismatic religious leader during the 1950s. Anderson's script initially drew comparisons to L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology.
But despite mounting anticipation, "The Master" had not been given a release date. Now, however, one of the film's primary producers, Megan Ellison, tweeted a clue.
@cigsandredvines I know you guys are waiting on a release date for 'the Master', and it's still a bit early, but I'd keep my eyes on October- Megan Ellison (@meganeellison) March 6, 2012
An October date would put the film smack dab in the middle of awards contenders, which we imagine suits Mr. Weinstein just fine.
