The Oscars are the Super Bowl of movie star fashion. Yes, it's all about the little gold guy, but nothing shines brighter than the stars on the red carpet, and we've got the best and worst fashions from the 84th Annual Academy Awards.

Who sparkled? Who missed the mark? From stylish first-time nominees Jessica Chastain and Berenice Bejo (loved one, not so much the other), to some of Oscars hottest couples (George Clooney and his lady Stacy Keibler for starters), we've got glowing praise and brutally honest critiques for all of them.

Click into the gallery to see what we thought of all the stars from the red carpet arrivals, and share your own thoughts in the comments.

I don't like Sandra Bullock, never have, but hers was the best dress, and her hair was done quite stylishly, too.

what a show of clowns the academy awards has turned into. it needs to bring back the likes of bob Hope or Johnny Carson to restore any semblance of the dignified show that it once was.

I remember those days. Rat Pack and the rest. Seems the further back you go the classier it
got. Now we get Borat, Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Osborn. Talent off the street?

Angelina Jolie looked amazing, but a bit too revealing on the red carpet: http://www.omdoubleg.com/entertainment/brad-pitt-embarrassed-by-angelina-jolies-out-of-control-right-leg-at-oscars/

I didn't love the way Cameron's hair and make-up were done. But, loved her gown. Loved Gwyneth's gown after she took the cape off. Meryl's ?????????? Guiliana's gown was lovely as well.

Angelina looks like she is a death's doorstep. Give yourself some of the food you send to Africa. Just horrible. You look at her face you saw pastie, huge forehead and red lips. Doesn't she have any friends?

One shouldered dresses just generally appear as if the wearer put it on wrong. At least the floor-length hemlines disguise that horrid "I reeeeeealy gotta pee" pose.

I really like George Clooney, Jean Dujardin, and Brad Pitt. Loved Angelina Jolie, Viola Davis, Mila, Jovovich, and Octavia Spencer

I loved Michelle Williams' dress. She was my favorite. Viola Davis looked beautiful, too.

George's golden girl's dress, in my opinion was the most stunning of all, followed by Paltrow.
08:22 AM on 02/29/2012
Seriously? Whilst I agree with most of this commentators' remarks, the gown Paltrow wore was spot on perfect with a supreme sense pared down modern confidence. Perhaps the commentator was in need of an enema considering the obvious constipation in their remark towards Paltow's cape and gown...

mrsentinel,
But you just did! Trying to figure out the "53%" when I do, I'm sure I'll like it...

Octavia Spencer was right on, Stacey Kiebler's dress seems made out of the same material as Meryl's, the only good thing about that outfit was george Clooney!

Maggie the choices for best and worst are off on some of picks, I'm just say'in. Although I'm not a fan of Gwynth, she looked fabulous in that dress - very sleek and put together. That sea green mess not so much, how is it any different than the other one shouldered mess you vetod?
