The football comedy, co-starring George Clooney, would finish third on its opening weekend, placing behind both "Nim's Island" and the second week of "21." "Leatherheads" would eventually gross just over $31 million domestically.
During this interview, Zellweger describes her character, Lexie Littleton, as a "Trailblazer." She adds that Lexie is "unconventional and smart." Said Renee: "She's so witty; she gives as good as she gets." Describing "Leatherheads," Zellweger boasts, "They don't make movies like this anymore." To wrap things up, Zellweger reveals that she loves films that are "smart."
