On Sunday February 26, the biggest stars in Hollywood gather to bestow Oscars on the best movies of the year. With Billy Crystal hosting the festivities once again, movie fans will be watching how many Academy Awards are racked up by "The Help," "Hugo" and more.

And since we won't know who wins the big gold until that 8pm ET start-time on February 26, this is your chance to test your award show expertise.

Every weekday between now and February 24, we'll post new questions about what will happen on Hollywood's big night. (Right there on the right side of your screen) Submit your best guesses and you'll automatically be eligible for a daily prize of two free movie tickets. The grand prize -- a YEAR'S worth of free movie tickets -- will be awarded to a user with the most correct predictions.

Who will have the final spot on the 'In Memoriam' package?

  • Peter Falk

  • Whitney Houston

  • Sidney Lumet

  • Elizabeth Taylor

  • Someone Else

I saw an interview with the Oscar producers - Brian Grazer and some other guy, and they said Whitney would be included in the package. It's not for the calendar year, it is from telecast to telecast and whomever has died since last year's telecast up until tomorrow can be included. As for the final spot, there is no doubt in my mind it will be Elizabeth Taylor. Period. Should be and will be.

Elizabeth Taylor. I liked the way her funeral was planned...15 minutes late as she requested (before she died of course), and without cameras and publicity, just a shot of the hearse going down the road.

Dane Elizabeth Taylor will be missed by a generation that fell in love with her. Her beauty and charm brought something to Hollywood that has long been forgotten. I hope that it is she that is awarded any and all that Hollywood has to offer a person. You are charming the angel now Liz!!!!

What a ridiculous question! Dame Elizabeth had a stellar career as an actress. In fact, she is one of the few success stories when it comes to child actors who successfully transitioned as adults. (For those too young to know, Google "National Velvet".)

While Elizabeth could claim many accomplishments as an advocate/philanthropist (AmFar), and entrepreneur (White Diamonds), etc., she will always be known, first and foremost as an actress. She was not just another pretty face, either, a truly talented actress.

I agree that "Cat" stands out, but she had many good performances too her credit on screen as well as the stage.

More importantly, who will be left out? It happens every year.
05:11 PM on 02/25/2012
Last year I think it was Farrah Fawcett.

Can't answer yet. There are still some pre-Oscar parties to be held this weekend...

Whitney will probably get snubbed. If not her, someone else will.

It SHOULD be Elizabeth Taylor, but it will probably be whitney
12:12 PM on 02/23/2012
Of course, it will be Elizabeth. She is the last of that generation of Hollywood royalty. Everyone else is gone. Whitney did not make enough films in order to claim bonafides as an actress. She's mostly known as a singer. Elizabeth Taylor will be in the final spot. You can bet on it.

If you go by career it has to Liz Taylor. Her career and the stardom that went with it spanned almost 3 generations. Add to that all the work she did for aid research and she should have a memeoriam segment all her own. Compared to Taylor's career Houston is only a blip despite all the hubbub last week. Taylor could cause that much commotion just getting off a plane.

This is a dumb poll and question. They are making a big deal out of Whitney being in the in Memoriam. The Academy has their rules if she made the cut fine if not fine. She was a successful actress and performed on a song that won an Oscar. Her death is just too fresh for them to ignore but rules are rules whatever they decide.

Why don't you just make 10 the loudest number?

Whitnet got more media than Steve Jobs. Shows where Americas values lie.

How can you place more value on one person over another? They were both important to people for different reasons. Entertainers always get more attention when they pass. Why? Because they bring joy to lives of many, many people. Steve Jobs did too, but since he's died there have been new products released. There will never be another voice like Whitneys.

Isn't this supposed to be for people who died in the last calendar year? whitney died this year, there may not be time to put her in. After all, how many movies did she make? And, they left out Corey Haim last year and he had a much bigger career than whitney.
09:05 PM on 02/22/2012
Remember 'Crack is Wack' because you must be smoking it if you think Corey Haim had a bigger career than Whitney Houston. She was not only in the hugely successful 'The Bodyguard' the soundtrack album won several Grammys and the song she did with Mariah Carey for the movie "The Prince of Egypt" won an Oscar. She was in at least four movies all which were successful. It's unfortunate how she died but she is still worthy of recognition by the Academy.

Corey Haim was in 35, count em, 35 movies. While he may not have been a singer who sang a song that won an Oscar, and he may have never won a Grammy(those awards are for music, not acting by the way) I would say that 35 movies 4 TV movies and 4 TV series makes his career a LOT bigger than whitney's. I never said that she should not be put in the memorial collage, just that they may not have time to get her in since the collage has already been made.

to be fair, the very question we were asked in the article IS an attempt to rate the dead. In fact, the Oscars making the last spot "special" IS ranking the dead.
