Russell Crowe: Gladiator. Mathematician. Dracula hunter?

According to Vulture, the Australian actor is currently in talks to join the upcoming vampire flick, "Harker." The film is a reimagining of Bram Stoker's "Dracula," which would have Crowe playing Jonathan Harker as a Scotland Yard detective instead of a lawyer, while he looks to solve a collection of murders in England. (Just think "American Gangster" set in 1800s England, with Denzel playing a vampire.)

Crowe is currently set to star in Tom Hooper's adaptation of "Les Miserables" (December 7) as well as Zach Snyder's Superman movie, "Man of Steel" (June 14, 2013). He is also seriously considering Darren Aronofsky's Noah's Ark feature.

Russell Crowe fans, are you not entertained? Because with this upcoming slate of films, you really should be.

I think the Dracula tale has been beaten to death. I'd rather see a sequel to "Master and Commander" or a prequel to "Gladiator" both terrific films.

We've watched Master and Commander at least five times, and each time, without fail, my boyfriend and I comment on how much we've love to see a sequel. The ending has a perfect set up for another installment, and there certainly is enough literary material by Patrick O'Brian in the Master in Commander series to chose from.
