'The Avengers' Super Bowl Trailer: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson And More Assemble (VIDEO)

If 14 seconds of "The Avengers" Super Bowl trailer wasn't enough to assemble your feelings of expectation and anticipation, perhaps 30 seconds will do the trick! The Super Bowl spot for "The Avengers" has arrived, and features all your favorite stars (including Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, absent from the teaser for the teaser), lots of explosions, and one pretty impressive heroes's shot of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow. No idea who they're fighting or whether this will all come together in the end, but for now: sweet!

Directed by geek icon Joss Whedon, "The Avengers" storms into theaters on May 4. Watch the extended edition of the trailer below.

In my opinion and from various observations, I find that that Marvel-based movies are usually better than the DC-based movies. The only DC movie that really gets any recognition is the Batman franchise. Movies like Green Lantern and the latest Superman movie just didn't stick with the audience. When I see a Marvel comic movie, I know it's going to be good. As for DC, unless it's a Batman movie, there might be a chance that it will not be so great.

what fun. I remember when my folks made me put away the comics and study up for a real career, Joss Whedon is having much more fun with his career, making these movies.

DC got to the movies first, but the technology wasn't there so a lot of it looked silly.

but they'll come around again. the batman movies have been amazing.

I doubt that will ever happen because each character's rights are owned by different companies. That's why spiderman could not be in the avengers movie (even as a cameo) because Sony owns those rights.

Namor was in fact an Avenger. Just not a founder. He joined in #262 (1985).

i didn't even know he was in a team, i always thought he was a singular super-power.. he was (to me) the first avenger villain (even though he was never really a villain, just really pissed-off at the surface world) and it will be a sad excuse for an avengers movie without him.
