Ferris Bueller Super Bowl Commercial: Matthew Broderick And Todd Phillips Team For Honda? (VIDEO)

The Internet threw its back out on Thursday thanks to a 10-second video featuring Matthew Broderick in full Ferris Bueller mode. ("How can I handle work on a day like today?" Broderick utters with the smarmy tone you remember from the John Hughes classic.) The teaser for what will likely be a Ferris-centric Super Bowl commercial caused much online speculation about its ultimate goal, but it appears Jalopnik may have solved the mystery.

Per the site, the commercial will actually be for Honda, with many classic scenes from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" reenacted with the car company's vehicles. Even better? Todd Phillips ("The Hangover") reportedly directed the spot, which should air during Super Bowl XLVI.

No word yet if Cameron, Sloane or George Peterson will make appearances as well.

Oh, I sure hope the commercial lives up to its potential! A fantastic idea and hopefully a classic. If it comes anywhere near the Volkswagon - Darth Vader little boy commercial, then I cannot wait.
