'Jack The Giant Killer' Release Date Moves To 2013
It looks like the Nicholas Hoult star train has hit some delays. The up and comer -- who you might remember as either Beast in "X-Men: First Class" or the boy in "About A Boy" -- was poised to have a strong 2012 with starring roles in both "Jack the Giant Killer" and "Warm Bodies," but Warner Bros. has shifted "Killer" to 2013.
The Bryan Singer-directed blockbuster -- a reimagining of "Jack the Giant Killer" and "Jack and the Beanstalk" -- had been scheduled for release on June 15, but will now hit theaters on March 22, 2013. That time period was open for Warner Bros. because the studio took "Arthur and Lancelot" completely off its schedule; the David Dobkin-direct action drama was scheduled for release on March 15, 2013 with Kit Harrington, Joel Kinnaman and perhaps Gary Oldman all in various stages of rumored involvement.
As for the vacated "Jack the Giant Killer" spot on the calendar this year, "Rock of Ages" will take its spot. The musical was initially scheduled for June 1.
"Killer" is the second fairytale adaptation to move to next year; earlier this month, "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" was shifted from March to January 2013.
