Oscars Promo: Billy Crystal on Hosting 'Grandaddy' Of Awards Shows

"I'm Billy Crystal, and I approve these Oscars." So says eight-time host Crystal in the newest behind-the-scenes video for his ninth time as Academy Awards emcee. What does Crystal have in-store for Hollywood's biggest night?

Judging from the two-minute clip, lots of movie-loving! Crystal calls the Oscars the "grandaddy" of awards shows, while exclaiming that the future nominees will all be "excellent." (Guess that means Crystal knows "J. Edgar" won't make an appearance at the ceremony; tip your waitress.)

The video is part of the relaunch of Oscar.com in the week before the nominations are announced on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The 84th annual Academy Awards, with Crystal as host, air on ABC on Sunday, Feb. 26. Check back to Moviefone in the next month for wall-to-wall Oscar coverage.

The only thing that would make me happier than having Billy Crystal host the Oscars is if Martin Sheen really was President Bartlett and he was the DEM nominee for re-election. Hey, Billy - please ask Hugh Jackman to join you for a musical number: We love him, too!
