If you thought the prospect of Lindsay Lohan playing Elizabeth Taylor was ridiculous, wait until you hear who else is being considered: "Transformers" star Megan Fox.

According to E!, Larry Thompson, a producer for the upcoming Liz Taylor Lifetime biopic, revealed that -- along with Lohan -- Fox is on the shortlist to play the icon.

"I've been talking to Lindsay Lohan directly, and with her reps, and have been in conversations with other actresses, including Megan Fox."

The mention of Fox will likely do nothing to dissuade the Taylor fans who were up in arms over the possibility of Lohan being cast. But, Thompson added that, "It's a very serious selection ... It's like casting for Hollywood royalty."

A "serious" selection? Are we talking "Jonah Hex" serious or "I Know Who Killed Me" serious? Liz Taylor fans will find out soon enough.

UPDATE: Lohan has been cast as Taylor. Production is set to begin this June.

Liz Taylor was / is a huge attention puller. The fact that this article has no postings after five hours ought to tell you how pathetic it is.
