In "Girls," Brody will team with writer-producer Neil LaBute for a story about a successful writer who goes to meet his four ex-girlfriends in hotel rooms around the country before getting married. It's based on LaBute's play.
"Jungle" is decidedly more high concept: a group of design firm staffers get trapped in the jungle following a company retreat, and all hell breaks loose. (Variety compares the action to "Lord of the Flies.") Jean-Claude Van Damme, Rob Huebel and Kristen Schaal co-star.
Brody -- best known for his work on the seminal teen series "The O.C." -- has put together a quality resume of feature film work in recent years: he stole scenes in "Jennifer's Body" playing an against-type villain, and was his Cohen-y self in "Scream 4" and "The Romantics."
In addition to these new features, 2012 will find Brody onscreen in Whit Stillman's "Damsels in Distress," the Steve Carell and Keira Knightley-led "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" and "Revenge for Jolly" with Kristen Wiig. Brody is also filming a cameo as porn star Harry Reams in "Lovelace," the biopic about porn star Linda Lovelace with Amanda Seyfried in the lead role.
