It was quite unfortunate that the Foreign Press did not honor "The Help" as the best picture of 2012. This is more than a movie, it is a Trilogy that shines light on the journey of African Americans, before the civil rights movement in the 1960's. The film had consumate character development, actors, and insight on how the human soul triumphs with dignity and survival over irrational predjudices, hate and ignorance.

I have always enjoyed George Clooney's performances in film, television, etc. He is a class act as a performer who also has a social conscience. However, although he did an excellent job in the Descendants, this film itself was trite and boring. Without George Clooney, this film would have passed into oblivion. To award the Best Picture Award for the GG to the Descendants, is a poor outcome. Especially, in light of the excellent films that were also nominated in this category. I saw all the nominated films, and personally I found the Descendants somewhat slow and monotone, not keeping my interest, except for the performance by George Clooney, Perhaps the Foreign Press has a different perspective. They may need some insight what is depth in American Cinema.

They all look wonderful in their own way...but what happened to the Golden Glamour...what happen to the beautiful 40-50's looking dressing. Now some look extremely nice, but the one with Angela without Brad she really looks like she is having fun..Smile more..look as beautiful as you are. Bring back the glam of the 40-50's those were the dresses that made an impression. I am only 50 years old but I can remember seeing pictures of how beautiful the actress looked. Some of the new actors/actress need to sparkle they are not sparkling in these outfits.

I like the golden globes my only problem is that Meryl Streep has to aqlways win. Granted she is aq good actress and she is well aware of that by now. Can't some of the actresses that are just as good get a shot. What is the use of nominating if you know you are going to give it to her and she acts like she is shocked that is what I don't like when she knew she would win. i jsut wish someone else wouldg et a shot.

The problem is that the other actresses are not "just as good." Meryl Streep is one of the all time greats. She may even be the all time BEST! It's just unfortunate for the other actresses that they live and work in the same era as Meryl Streep.

Why is there no picture of Idris Elba??

So, the overly praised Modern Family wins again? What a freakin' bore! It's praised as being so well written and acted? Who cares! It barely gets a laugh out of me. The Middle and the Big Bang Theory make me laugh and that's what a good comedy is supposed to do. I am so sick of Modern Family getting all the best comedy awards from these uppity phonies.

Homeland and Claire Danes definitely deserved the wins.

Who are these people and why are they in my television?
11:42 PM on 01/15/2012
It's ridiculous that most of the TV shows who won are on cable stations you have to pay a fortune for. They need to either only let broadcast shows compete, or they need to make HBO and Showtime a little more affordable. Have they not heard how bad the economy is? Do they care?
