Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt 'Found Me Crying' in the Shower

Angelina Jolie

It turns out being a director isn't as easy as you might think. Just ask Angelina Jolie. The mega-star -- who will appear as a presenter at the Golden Globes on Sunday night with Brad Pitt, and likely get creamed by Ricky Gervais for her efforts -- revealed just how crazed the idea of filming "In the Land of Blood and Honey" made her before production began.

"I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower and Brad [Pitt] found me crying," Jolie said during a live web chat on Marie Claire's website. "I felt this huge responsibility and I felt very small. 'Who am I to take this on?'"

The film, a love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war in the mid-90s, marked Jolie's directorial debut -- not that she is comfortable with her new title.

"I didn't plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I'm a director," Jolie said.

That may be the case, but it isn't stopping the Oscar-winning actress from continuing her new career. Back in November of last year, Jolie told "60 Minutes" that she was planning another feature film, this time about the war in Afghanistan.

In addition to her film work and relationship with Pitt, Jolie is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador. You can see her at the Golden Globes this Sunday.

She lost, she better stick with over acting some roles...

At least she is human and can have a case of nerves. She is not a superhuman as we seem to embrace. Perhaps Jolie does enjoy the attention, but I bet she pays a price always expecting perfection of herself. What happens if she should fail?

I actually went to film school. If I film anything that has to do with war I try and do it with more high speed chases, more action, more adventure, more guns, and more excitement than anyone can possibly get onto that rectangle of 35 mm film....Alfred-

I'm Bosnian but my parents fled early on in the war. I saw the movie about two weeks ago and thought she did an excellent job. I am SURE it was not easy, it's never easy to satisfy our people when it comes to this subject. It is a very sensitive area and many of us feel somewhat entitled as to how this story/war should be portrayed. However, I believe she was truly genuine about this project and although it was very moving and difficult to watch at times, it was worth every minute.

OH & I want to thank her for caring and wanting to open the world's eyes to a very small country's suffering.
07:12 PM on 01/13/2012
i would so love to see her direct a movie based on the oil spill chevron caused in equador or BP's disaster.... she is after all the UN ambassador...
act like it and stop pretending you care just because your agent told you adopting foreign children will make everyone love you.

And this is newsworthy?
06:31 PM on 01/13/2012
So why did you look at the article and feel compelled to post? Its not like the title was earth shattering, were your expectaions really that high? I for one respect her as a human being and am pleased she actually felt pressure in the undertaking of sharing a very sad situation that many, many people suffered through for many years and probably still suffering with post traumatic stress disorder....I for one like to read that people actually still feel emotions...this world has gotten so cold and jaded, its actually refreshing. May be you should click on more stimulating stories in the future...so maybe your comments might be "newsworthy".

Just goes to show you that we are more alike than different. Don't worry Angelina, you will be just fine! This isn't your greatest work anyway. Your wonderful selfless work as a humanitarian will be what we should all remember you for.
