Before you wring your hands beyond their breaking point over the possibility of a non-Kristen Wiig-ed "Bridesmaids" sequel, calm down! It might have all just been one big misunderstanding! Universal may be itching to parlay its hit into more dollar signs but "Bridesmaids" co-star Wendi McLendon-Covey told E! that Wiig may very well star in its next installment.
"She never said that she didn't want to do it," she clarified. "All she said was that she's not working on it right this minute because someone gave her the opportunity to write and direct her own film so, duh, she's going to do that first. So, no. I think all she's waiting for is for her and Annie [Mumulo] to come up with an idea that's equally as good."
After that unanimous PHEW, McLendon-Covey explained that this will not be happening in the next six months.
However, the star is optimistic about the content of the super-anticipated sequel. "There's always divorce parties," McLendon-Covey said. "There's always baby showers. There's all kinds of hideous things like that that women do."
