Remember how excited you were about Blake Lively's acting prowess in "The Town" -- only to be disappointed by her wooden work in "Green Lantern"? Well, don't despair: the tawny-skinned beauty is getting back to the serious stuff.
Lively will reportedly headline Steven Soderbergh's next movie, "The Side Effects." The 'Gossip Girl' star and Chanel muse -- who is one of the leads in Oliver Stone's coming adaptation of Don Winslow's pulp crime novel "Savages" -- will star alongside Soderbergh alums Channing Tatum and Jude Law in the new film, which was formerly called "The Bitter Pill." She will play woman who, while waiting out her husband's (Tatum) time in prison, soothes her nerves by way of prescription medication.
Soderbergh has quite a full 2012: "Haywire" hits theaters on Jan. 20 and "Magic Mike" arrives on June 29. He's also filming the HBO movie "Behind the Candelabra" with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon as Liberace and his lover, respectively. Expect Soderbergh to focus on his paintings sometime after that.
