Jeremy Renner is starring in the upcoming action-thriller, 'The Bourne Legacy,' sans Matt Damon, who played Jason Bourne in the franchise's three previous films. However, Renner will not be taking over as Bourne, something the 'Avengers' star confirmed a few months back. "My character is called Aaron Cross. He ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, ['The Bourne Legacy'] has that same ticking clock, but it's a new program and new characters," the actor told Empire.

So, will Renner have the same icy glare that Damon's Bourne had? If the first photo of the film is any indication, then yes. USA Today has the first look at Renner's Aaron Cross, the full version of which, you can check out over in their 2012 movie preview.

'The Bourne Legacy,' starring Renner, Ed Norton, Rachel Weisz and Joan Allen, hits theaters August 3.
