At long last, putting Salma Hayek and Napolean Bonaparte in the same sentence makes sense. According to People, Hayek is set to receive the Légion d'Honneur (Legion of Honor) in France. The actress' name appeared on French president Nicolas Sarkozy's official list this past Sunday. The honor, founded by Napolean in 1802, is given to military personnel and civilans. People points out that the title "is not exclusively reserved for the French and is often awarded to figures of international standing." This means that Hayek's work in 'Puss in Boots' is finally paying off.

Hayek will receive a medal, along with the title of Chevalier or "Knight", at the ceremony sometime within the next two months. Incidentally, Hayek does have a connection to this particular honor: her father-in-law, businessman Francois Pinault, has the Legion title of Grand Officer.
